STOP 0x0000000A IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL ?

Hello people, this is John Ridens from Ohio FL. Last week I purchase a Computer which was windows xp installed and was mentioned that it is compatible with windows vista. Two days after I try to install windows vista but got an error message that look a lot like the following STOP 0x0000000A (parameter1, parameter2, parameter3, parameter4) IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL Don’t know the reason, need some help!

Hi John, Hmm I can understand that it feels so bad when you are stuck in these kind of terrible situations. There are few reasons of this error message. 1. The Computer uses more than 3 GB of RAM 2. The Computer is using a storage system that run the Storport miniport driver 3. The computer uses a controller that uses 32 bit direct memory access (DMA) Microsoft has worked on this problem and came with the latest service pack for windows vista. You can know more about how to get the latest pack of vista by visiting on http://support.microsoft.com/kb/935791 There are also updates available like update for Windows Vista (KB929777). Just download and install these updates. Some pre-requisites with this are your system must have windows vista and 3 GB or higher RAM. After installing update, restart the system to make everything start from the root. Best of Luck!
