Stop Error 0x00000124 ?
Hello, One month ago I purchased a new PC. I installed windows vista and after sometimes it get crashed several times per day while playing video games. The blue screen says, System has encountered an uncorrectable hardware error, STOP: 0x00000124 (0x00000000, 0x832417F0, 0xB2000000, 0x00000175) To solve this I tried to re-install vista and all the drivers that are provided with the computer system. All things I have done in the safe mode as taking extra risk protection. I was playing UT2004 when this problem started. I also updated my BIOS with live update 3 and disabled and disabled C1E support in BIOS. My machine’s configurations are: Intel Core 2 Duo 4300 Box MSI P965 Neo Club3d 7600 GT 256 MB 1GB Aeneon DDR2 Terratec Aureon 5.1 Fun Terratec Cingergy HT PCI Please help if you know anything about it.

It is a problem that has been faced by many people all over the world. The intensive HDD activity becomes so bad that people could eventually predict that distinctive clicks occur from their computer’s case. One thing also seen that if the computer is getting suddenly slowdown then the STOP 0x000000124 was not too far behind. In Microsoft forums it was mentioned as bad sound card drivers that conflicts with the video card drivers, mostly those from nVidia. You can try rolling back the video drivers to the WHQL drivers in Vista and disabling my sound. Next you can check and remove RAID JBOD configuration. If the problem still presents then you can download a utility to check SMART status on your hard drives. If the tool reports no problem in the hard drive then there must be a bug in vista x64. It may also create problem in your BIOS and messages like the 32 bit disk access for one of the hard disks was turned off. Turn it on and again check the settings for other drives of system. I am sure that doing this will solve the problem away.
