I have a Vista based system. One day I was using USB camera device. It was connected to my system with the help of the USB cable. Suddenly I got this message “STOP: 0x000000E4 (0x00000002, parameter2, parameter3, parameter4)” on my computer screen. I am not getting it what type of message is this? My friend has told me that it is an error message. Is it really an error message? How can I solve this problem? Can anyone help me?

Hi! Yes “STOP: 0x000000E4 (0x00000002, parameter2, parameter3, parameter4)” is really an error message. But not to worry this can be easily solved. Apart from this situation there are some other situations in which you can get the same error message. If you resume your system for the long term suspend mode or the value of the computer’s ForceHCResetOnResume register entry is 0 then also you will get the same error message on your system. This problem occurs because of the timing issue between the Ks.sys module and Usbvideo.sys module. When the timing issue occurs then before a related work item is invoked a device object is deleted. To solve this issue problem you should change the value of the registry entry of ForceHCResetOnResume to 1. To solve this error problem you can get the newest service pack of the Windows Vista. You can also use hotfix to solve only this type of the problem.
