STOP: 0x0000009F DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE ?

I am using a Point-to Point Protocol that is PPP to connect to the Internet or to the network from my computer. I am using Windows Vista on my computer. Sometimes I let my system on the standby mode. In the beginning I don’t get any thing on my computer screen. But from last few days I am getting a message STOP: 0x0000009F (param1, param2, param3, param4) DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE on my computer screen. My friend has told me that it is an error message. Is it really an error message? If so then what should I do then?

Hi, Yes the message you are getting on your computer screen is really an error message. Actually when you put your computer to sleep mode and the Point-to Point Protocol connection is also active, then the screen of your system turns black. After 9-10 minutes, either your computer can restart or an error message is received by you that is STOP: 0x0000009F (param1, param2, param3, param4) DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE. When this problem happens, you may be using a usual modem either an ADSL modem or a mobile phone to do the connection to the Internet or to the network. This type of problem may take place when you are using the PPP connection and you have already installed or you are going to install the Network Device Interface Specification Intermediate driver. NDIS Intermediate drivers are generally found in the VPN client products and the Firewall products. To solve this type of problem you can download the update for windows vista (KB931671) package.
