Hi friend, I read your problem and to resolve this you can try performing a clean boot and then install a standalone package for windows vista service pack 2. Due to clean boot all the third party services will be disable and it helps eliminating the software conflicts. Then follow the steps: 1. Log on to your computer with administrator privileges 2. Click on start and type msconfig.exe in the search box and then press enter to start the system configuration utility 3. If you prompted for the administrator password then just enter it and continue 4. Go to the General tab and select the Selective Startup and then click to clear the Load Startup items check box 5. On the services tab click to select the hide all Microsoft services check box and then click on the Disable all 6. Click on Ok and then restart the system Now you can install the update without any problem and to see the changes again restart the system after installing the update.
